वाणी प्रकाशन अपनी स्थापना के 50 वर्ष पूरे होने पर 26 जुलाई 2014 को स्थापना दिवस मना रहा है। इसी अवसर वाणी न्यास की स्थापना की घोषणा भी की जाएगी। न्यास की शुरुआत लेखन, चित्रांकन व अनुवाद के क्षेत्रों में तीन महत्वपूर्ण शोधवृतियों से होगी।
अदिति माहेश्वरी, निदेशक, कॉपीराइट व अनुवाद विभाग के अनुसार अन्तरराष्ट्रीय स्तर पर हिन्दी की प्रतिष्ठा के लिए जो भी कार्य किये जा रहे हैं वे अपर्याप्त हैं। वाणी न्यास हिन्दी और भारतीय साहित्य से विश्व स्तरीय अनुवाद करवाने तथा भारतीय साहित्य को अनुवाद के माध्यम से अन्तरराष्ट्रीय प्रतिष्ठा दिलवाने के लिए कार्य करेगा। वाणी न्यास हिन्दी और भारतीय भाषाओं को अन्तरराष्ट्रीय स्तर पर मान्यता दिलाने के लिए कार्य करेगा जिसमें यूनेस्को में हिन्दी को मान्यता दिलाना, नोबल पुरस्कारों के लिए भारतीय साहित्य की प्रविष्टि को प्रोत्साहित करना, दुनिया भर के विश्वविद्यालयों में भारतीय साहित्य की उपस्थिति दर्ज कराना आदि शामिल है।
वाणी न्यास बाल साहित्य में चित्रांकन एवं लेखन, साहित्य में नवाचार, हिन्दी साहित्य का अन्तरराष्ट्रीय भाषाओं में अनुवाद आदि वाणी न्यास द्वारा किये जाने वाले शोध कार्यों के मुख्य उद्देश्य हैं, इन सभी विषयों पर वाणी न्यास शोधवृत्ति को बढ़ावा देते हुए एक लाख प्रत्येक तीन फेलोशिप देगा जब कि अनुवाद के लिए अंतरराष्ट्रीय अनुवादकों को भारत में रेसिडेंशियल फेलोशिप देगा।
दुनिया भर के जाने माने लेखक और बुद्धिजीवी इस न्यास के परामर्श मंडल में हैं।

Connecting Indian Languages Abroad: Vani Foundation
On completion of its 50 years Vani Prakashan is all set to celebrate its Foundation Day, which will also mark the launch of Vani Foundation on 26th July 2014. The foundation will serve as a fresh, innovative platform for the promotion exchange among Indian languages and literature with the international literature. The foundation will accommodate international and national writers and illustrators by giving out various scholarships and fellowships to scholars of Indian and non-Indian origins to discover and develop discourses in Indian art, literature, children's literature, music, performing arts, non-fiction. A major strive of the foundation will be in the direction of getting Hindi recognized as a UNESCO language.
Twenty-first century India is a land of promises. Our country exuberates rich cultural diversity, linguistic richness and an uncompromising zest for exploring these realms. As a land of twenty-four official languages, with an independent print and public culture, and most importantly being historically open to exchange with one another- makes us a country that celebrates curiosity and impetus towards knowledge.
When Vani Prakashan was established 50 years ago by Late Dr. Prem Chand Mahesh, an educationalist, teacher, writer and publisher, he based his motto on the lines - Taki Shabd Gawahi Dete Rahein (Let words be the witness). Over the decades, this has interpreted the movements in social consciousness through its socio-political and critical publications. Our readers confer the works published by Vani Prakashan with the honour of being the milestones. Over a span of half a century, we have metamorphosed as a platform where multiplicity culture and language unite.
However, despite the richness in the linguistic diversity, there has not been a meaningful exchange among Indian languages and with the international literatures. This gap is a major concern for us as one of the major publishing houses in the country.
To address it, we have established a not-for-profit organization which will act as a registered trust named Vani Foundation. This trust will operate in three major sectors:
1. Promote exchange among Indian languages and international literatures.
2. Award fellowships and international and national residencies to scholars of Indian and nonIndian origins to discover and develop discourses in Indian art, literature, children's literature, music, performing arts, non-fiction.
3. To promote writing in Indian languages for children.
Other than its eminent foundation members and executive committee including Namita Gokhale, Ashok Vajpayei, Maharaja Bimlendra Mohan Pratap Mishra, Sukrlta Paul Kumar, Ute ReimerBohner, Yatindra Mishra, Abhay Kumar Dubey, Dhiru Bhai Seth and Shubha Mudgal, Vani Foundation has renowned poet, filmmaker and lyricist, Oscar® and Dada Saheb Phalke Awarded Shri Gulzar as its Principal Patron and Sahitya Akademi- the Indian academy of letters as its supporting partner.
Initially Vani Foundation will award the following three fellowships in different categories:
• Dr. Premchand Mahesh Fellowship for discursive writing in Hindi. Abhay Kumar Dubey, a senior sociologist and renowned journalist will mentor the winners of this fellowship.
• International and National residencies to translators, illustrators and writers. The program will be mentored by the Chairman of Vani Foundation, Mr. Arun Maheshwari, the President of the Raza Foundation, Mr. Ashok Vajpeyi and Namita Gokhale, renowned author and the founder-director of Jaipur Literature Festival. This residency will be an opportunity for the winner to come and stay in India, get acquainted with the Indian context and produce work that is representative of the cultures of both the nations. The residency includes various engagements arranged for by the Vani Foundation such as interactions with various people belonging to the industry, workshops, etc.
• Fellowship in Children's Literature will be given to two illustrators and two children's authors each. The Fellows will be mentored by Gulzar sahib, Academy Award winning lyricist and Paro Anand, renowned author and storyteller for children. This will be supported by Takshila Education Society&: German Book Office.
Two fellowships each of rupees twenty thousand (20,000) will be awarded to two writers of Children's Literature and two fellowships of rupees twenty thousand (20,000) each will be awarded to two illustrators for children's books along with a multi-book publishing contract. The winners of the fellowship will also get a chance to attend the Master classes for Writers and illustrators at Jumpstart2014 for free.
