Indian Languages Festival ‘Samanvay’ 2016

The India Habitat Centre, New Delhi’s - Indian Languages Festival ‘Samanvay’ 2016 will unfold on November 5, 6 & 7.
ILF Samanvay, now in its 6th edition, is India's only exclusive Languages Festival. The festival actually appreciate the term 'language' beyond the literary and the verbal, and explores its nuanced expressions in various fields, such as visual arts, performance, food, technology and the like, along with literature.
The theme of ILF 2016 is 'Language as Public Action', and it will animate all the segments of the festival this year. The focal languages this year are Gujarati, Telugu, Urdu, Santhali and Khasi, and a special appearance of Tripuri.
This year’s inaugural lecture - Empowerment as Verb: The Power of Voicing – will be delivered by Ela Bhatt on Nov 5. The festival will close on Nov 7 with Pratap Bhanu Mehta's valedictory address, Satya, Bakwas aur Janatantra.

Supported by The Raza Foundation and Ashok Vajpeyi, conceptualised in 2015, Art-Articulations, the visual arts feature of ILF Samanvay will have exhibition Oneness curated by Deeksha Nath. Oneness presents multiple art vocabularies speaking with diverse audiences. The art exhibition will be opened by eminent artist Krishen Khanna on November 3, and will be on view till Nov 18.
