Nainital in Oxford Bookstore
a going 2016 and rising star TLB
Oxford Bookstores' celebration of end 2016 couldn't have been better than how it was today. My evening of 29th December was booked for Dearest
Namita Gokhale’s program at
Oxford Bookstore —
Inside:Outside, These hills called home. Namita Gokhale in conversation with
Mayank Austen Soofi, Nishiraj A. Baruah and
Pushpesh Pant and celebrating the rise of star —her latest novel
Things To Leave Behind.

The OMG plus Downright Nostalgic is how I felt, as they talked about Nainital, Nainital and Nainital. Now c'mon we all love this hill station and we all have memories associated with Naini. And what a flashback it was as Namita, Mayank, Nishiraj and Pushpesh shared their memories of Nainital, they might have thought that they are sharing something personal but to me it was like walking on a road that leads to home. Mayank Austen Soofi your photographs are amazing !!!

Mrinal Pande hats off to your memory and sharp eyes — I don't think anyone else could notice that the deity's picture in Mayank's photograph is placed diagonally, in ‘kothri’ of the (hence) makeshift baba.

So much happiness, wine and cheese (strawberry juice and cheese for me) there was, after the talks, is what sent this idea to my head, to photograph the happy faces — while I ask them to say cheese — some could... some tried, some photos came sharp some blurred but the essence, HAPPINESS, is there, in all the face...
Check them out but with a 'say cheese' !
... and don't try to find any order in these pics, except who got clicked first is first ... All photos by me, of course Maharshi took mine (which is last).
