Prakash Javadekar to inaugurate 3RD ROUNDTABLE CONSULTATION ON AIR QUALITY by Dr Shashi Tharoor, AirQualityAsia & TERI #Air2Breathe

The 3rd Roundtable Consultation on air quality — initiated in 2017 by Dr Shashi Tharoor —  will be jointly hosted by The Energy and Resource Institute (TERI) and AirQualityAsia. The Consultation will be held on September 4-5, 2019 at the India Habitat Centre, New Delhi.

This year the Roundtable will have on its agenda reviewing of the National Clean Air Plan to discuss initial results along with pragmatic measures for strengthening clean air initiatives. Topics under discussion include cost of India’s transition to Renewable Energy, Energy subsidies/impacts on public and private-sector energy choices, measures to strengthen the National Clean Air Plan.

The first Roundtable on air quality was held on July 24, 2017, at the initiative of Dr. Shashi Tharoor, MP, a group of air quality experts, civil society stakeholders, and Parliamentarians were brought together to build a collaborative partnership to address the air-quality crisis in India. In July 2018, the 2nd edition of the Roundtable co-organised with the Observer Research Foundation [ORF], convened a wider spectrum of stakeholders representing government, World Bank/UN agencies, NGOs, academia, media, and industry to deliberate upon the creation of a National Action Plan on air quality.
